Over a week late of course…but that is par for the course at this #HomeCrazzyHome.
As a Radical Unschooler, my biggest job when it comes to educating PanKwake is…
To Provide Resources!
Now any of my friends who have seen the Gaming/Art room at #HomeCrazzyHome know how passionate we are about that. That does not even take into account PinkTopia, a play room, sensory room, gymnastics and the back garden. Yes, those are just PanKwake’s areas of the house.
If that seems a bit excessive to you, Cookie Monster has almost the same number. It is a VERY big house for three people.
But what my Swansea friends may not realize is that even before Cookie Monster came into our lives and swooped us away on the train to become Cinderellas in his life…I provided all those same things to PanKwake. On a benefits budget. Yes, admittedly they were much smaller scale. But they still existed.
Even in that teeny, tiny, dingy London flat, PanKwake had…Pink Paradise, the largest room. She also took over the living room as a computer and art area. As for sensory…the airing cupboard was HER choice until it got too cramped. Then she took over the storage area under her midi-bed.
Gymnastics and back yard were a bit more complicated. Although she did have (and still does) a small indoor trampoline, we used the local leisure center for trampolining. They had weekly open play times. And there were three parks within walking distance of the house that we utilized in lieu of a back yard. We also had took over a portion of the drive-way outside our flat for gardening.
Even that first and ONLY visit by the local Home Education Officer could not find fault with the resources I provided for PanKwake. Heck, who could since she had more books and toys than many nurseries or schools? She still does. And we have done two or three purges since then.
The thing is that no matter what…
YOU…
Are still the greatest resource that your child needs to grow, learn and thrive.
Your time…
Your love…
Your patience…
Your attention…
YOU!!!!
That is why Radical Unschool is so amazing…the connection between parent and child.
We would not have it any other way at #HomeCrazzyHome.
