4 Steps to #ProudlyPDA

I wish I had gotten up earlier this morning. Gotten bloggin’ out of the way. Because my Twitter fed is once more doin’ my head in. There is this BIG autism conference…another one! And while I use much of their strategies as the foundation with PanKwake…I refer others to do for the basics.

It simply does NOT go far enough!

Oh, it will help you and your child to SURVIVE.

But since when was just surviving good enough.

At its core…it overlooks the two most essential ingredients to success, happiness, and life…

Positivity….

and….

Helping Yourself and Others!

Be the change

It was still ALL about ‘experts’ coming to save you and/or your child.

One more time, folks…

No One Is Coming!

And that is not a bad thing. The truth is that we…the #ActuallyAutistic and the #parents of #HappilyAutistic and #ProudlyPDA little humans have within us everything that we need…and enough to share with others who need it too.

Let me be clear…

Autism…Pathological Demand Avoidance…sensory overload…meltdowns…

None of it is the end of the world. Hell, it ain’t even that hard…not for me or PanKwake. Not when you have 4 things…

Acceptance…

Understanding…

Unconditional Love…

Laughter…

Oh…and RadiCool Unschooling…but that is wrapped up in the acceptance and understanding.

With those 4 simple ingredients you can always make the most tasty life cake going. Like my chocolate chip cookies…never quite the same but always delicious. Even the slightly burnt ones.

PDA is the BEST thing that ever happened to me. I learn more from PanKwake than I could ever teach her. We truly are #HappilyAutistic and #ProudlyPDA.

Just wish more people would embrace those 4 things…it really is THAT simple.
