#100DaysOfHomeEd – Mother’s Day (34)

It’s Mother’s Day in the UK.

Not only is one mother grieving her 33 year-old daughter who has been murdered by a London Met police officer, who had already been reported for exposing himself to other women…

But those who came to remember and honor her, to #ReclaimTheStreets, were MAN-handled and arrested by his blue-wall of silence buddies at the Met, which coincidentally is run by a woman…

And another woman is trying to push through a law which would give these same police more powers to abuse and silence protesters… Not just women, but #BlackLivesMatter and even home educators.

Sorry, if I don’t feel much like celebrating.

This Mother’s Day I want a safe place for my offspring, including my mixed-race, multiply-neurodivergent teen daughter.

That is NOT too much to ask.

Before she becomes another statistic.

And if you can’t see what that has to do with neurodivergence or self-directed learning, then what universe are you living in?
