This one appears in almost every single X-Men movie…in one form or another…
Mutation. It is the key to our evolution. It is how we have evolved from a single-cell organism into the dominant species on the planet. This process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years. But every few millennia evolution leaps forward.
Not long after PanKwake was diagnosed with #autism I started to teach her that she was the REAL Jean Grey. That her brain held #AutisticSuperPowers. That the key was to train it…it control it.
Over the course of the past five years, my journey as the #parent of a #HappilyAutistic #ProudlyPDA little human has shown me the error of such arrogance and assumptions. in that way, my own journey has paralleled Charles Xavier’s…and Raven’s.
Now I know the true war that we fight is for #Acceptance.
But then again as Charles (X-Men 2)says…
Mutants. Since the discovery of their existence they have been regarded with fear, suspicion, often hatred. Across the planet, debate rages. Are mutants the next link in the evolutionary chain or simply a new species of humanity fighting for their share of the world? Either way it is a historical fact: Sharing the world has never been humanity’s defining attribute.
Sharing the world has never been humanity’s defining attribute.
At times I feel Erik’s pain…

Is that the answer?
I feel as if 2018 may be the year to explore that…at least for me.
